💼 Product Update — 23/12/2024

Adding user permissions and client access

Welcome to our weekly product update. Each week, we highlight Briefcase’s latest features and AI improvements designed to make bookkeeping and accounting workflows simpler and more efficient. Here’s what’s new.

Manage user permissions

We’ve introduced user permissioning to make it easier to manage access to client accounts. There are two main roles for accountants & bookkeepers: Admin and User.

Admins can:

  • Access all client accounts

  • Assign user roles to existing users

  • Assign account access to current or newly connected accounts

  • Invite new users to the platform

Users can:

  • Access assigned client accounts

  • Invite new users to the platform

All user permissions can be managed through the Organisation Settings screen. To access it, click the cog icon located in the top-right corner of the screen, next to your practice name in the header.

Invite clients to Briefcase

Clients who manage their own bookkeeping can now be invited to Briefcase.

To invite a client, select the client account(s) they need access to and generate a unique invite link. Share the link with your client, allowing them to create an account and access their transactions directly in Briefcase.

Please note: invite links are valid for 7 days.

That’s all for this week. Have any questions, ideas or feedback? Hit reply to this email and let us know.
